Where to Eat

Since I do travel fairly frequently, I figured it would be great to compile a list (with links) of awesome places to eat; from casual to fine dining here it is!

Check me out on FoodSpotting to see more great dishes that I've tried from, well, everywhere.

Andy Nelson's Pit Barbeque
Created by former NFL player, Andy Nelson, they serve up the best pit..well, anything.
Cuisine: Pit Barbeque, Country
Atmosphere: Casual, Pique-nique Style Dining
I Would Recommend: The Turkey Q Sandwich with a side of Cornbread

An Poitin Stil Irish Pub
An Irish pub looking like it came straight out of Dublin. I recommend going for a lunch date to avoid the crowds.
Cuisine: Traditional Irish Fair with a Modern Twist
Atmosphere: Casual Dining in an Irish Pub Setting
I Would Recommend: The Irish Spring Rolls, The Bookmaker Sandwich (with the Chips), Bailey's Cheesecake, Bread Pudding

The Rumor Mill
A fusion tapas bar hidden in Old Ellicott City. They focus on quality food prepared in amazing ways.
Cuisine: Asian Inspired Tapas
Atmosphere: Classy
I Would RecommendCrab and Goat Cheese Wontons, Honey Miso Scallops, Seared Tuna with Edamame

American fine dining at its best. The waitstaff is very knowledgable. The menu has options for everyone, even vegetarains. Every week there is a Chef's Menu, that is never twice the same.
Cuisine: American Fine Dining
Atmosphere: Upscale, Romantic, Classy
I Would Recommend: Almost anything! The four course menu is a great deal, highlighting the best ingrediants of the season. Rack of Lamb, Lobster Ravoili, Chocolate Coconut Tart.

Tapas on Main
American-Spanish Tapas in probably tthe cutest space ever. The ambiance is great as it the location and the food. There are nightly specials that are simply mouthwatering and flat breads that will leave you wanting more. Check out what I had when I was there.
Cuisine: American Spanish Tapas

I Would Recommend: If it is a special, the Scallops with Mango Salsa. From the regular menu, the Mushroom Quinoa Flat Bread, Tuna Plate and the Lemon Sorbet.

Bread Alone
An American style, local cuisine based restaurant that makes all of thier pastry items in house as well as cans and preserves local fruits and vegetables for winter use. They serve breakfast, lunch, dinner and have a coffee shop in the front if you are on the go. This is what Justin and I had when we went.
Cuisine: Local, Hudson Valley Products Used, American Style
Atmosphere: Family Friendly, Hipster, Modern, Neutral
I Would Recommend: The Goat Cheese, Spinach and Caramelized Onion Omelette, Chai Latte and an Almond Croissant.

Akari Sushi
The best Sushi this side of The River. Akari Sushi is located right next to the Poughkeepsie train station and is worth the stop. They offer a variety of things from American favorites to Japanese specialties.
Cuisine: Japanese
Atmosphere: Laid back and casual with a Japanese Flair
I Would Recommend: The Spider Roll, The Philadelphia Roll, The California Roll, The Spicy Shrimp Roll, Vegetable Noodle Pot
